How to Use
01
Remove the old net – release the cable from the posts, remove the centre strap, and slide out the sidesticks from post sleeves
02
Thread the cable – pass the new cable through the top-band of the net; attach the looped end to the first post
03
Run the net to the second post – feed the cable through the post hardware and tension with the cable clamp until net height at the posts is 1.07m
04
Fit the centre strap – attach to the net and floor anchor; adjust until the net height at centre reaches 0.914m (ITF regulation)
05
Insert the sidesticks – slide fibreglass sidesticks into the post sleeves to square the net at each post
06
Check and verify – measure 1.07m at posts and 0.914m at centre; adjust cable tension as needed before play
Tip: Two people makes installation easier for managing the full 12.68m width. Solo installation is possible but tensioning evenly is more difficult alone.
Specifications – Tennis Net (Three Quarter Drop)
Safety
- Always verify net heights after installation – a loose or improperly tensioned net is a safety and play hazard
- Use appropriate tools on the cable clamp; do not overtighten to the point of deforming the cable or damaging post hardware
- Inspect the net regularly for fraying at the cable loop and sidestick points; replace if structural integrity is compromised
- Two people are recommended for installation to tension the net evenly across the full 12.68m span

FAQs
What is a three-quarter drop net?
The “drop” describes the net’s height profile from post (1.07m) to centre (0.914m). Three-quarter drop is the standard ITF specification for recreational and competition play.
Will this fit my court?
This net is designed for a standard court with an inside post span of 12.8m and a net winder. If your court has a different span or fixed posts without a winder, contact Sportsclean before ordering to confirm compatibility.
Do I need any other hardware to install this net?
No – cable, centre strap, and clamp are included. You’ll need standard hand tools (wrench or pliers for the cable clamp) but no specialist equipment.
How long should a tennis net last?
Under normal outdoor use in Australian conditions, expect 3-5 years from a quality net. Heavy UV exposure, coastal salt air, and high-frequency play all reduce lifespan. Leaving the net under tension when not in use for extended periods also accelerates wear.
What makes this better than a cheaper net?
The materials – UV-stable braided polyethylene, double-mesh top rows, and PVC bands – are specified for real outdoor longevity. Budget nets use lighter materials that fade, stretch, and fray within one or two Australian seasons.
